How to Boost the Health of Your Gut Microbiome to Enhance Your Mood, Performance, and Emotional Wellbeing

Join me along with Jason Rozin, M.S (integrative medicine), Jeff Thurston, M.S (biochemistry), and Patrick Porter, Ph.D. (psychology) for our live talk on the Gut-Brain Connection: How to Boost the Health of Your Gut Microbiome to Enhance Your Mood, Performance, and Emotional Wellbeing.

You don’t want to miss this fascinating discussion with Q&A on the gut-brain connection and its impact on emotions, mood, and even how we perform (on the field, in the office, or classroom)!

We harbor ~ 10-100 trillion symbiotic microbial cells (mostly bacteria in the gut) known as the human microbiota; the genes these cells harbor is called the human microbiome. These genes impact human health, including mental health and brain function.

A recent study identified 56 gut–brain modules, which are considered the metabolic function pathways in the gut that potentially influence brain function. In fact, this particular study was able to identify how a certain genus of bacteria influences brain health, revealing that individuals with depression had a low abundance of the bacterial genus Faecalibacterium, which is associated with a higher quality of life.
