EBOO Therapy

All healing starts within you; EBOO is what helps us support it, safely and systematically.

At Terrain Health, EBOO stands for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation and is offered as a potential adjunct for individuals struggling with chronic fatigue, recalcitrant inflammation, brain fog, recovery plateaus, or post-infectious symptoms. Your plan is customized to your history, goals, and tolerance-never one-size-fits-all.

What EBOO can help you with

  • Chronic inflammatory conditions
  • Immune-related disorders and recurrent flares
  • Bacterial and viral infections (adjunctive support)
  • Arthritis (including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid patterns)
  • Lyme disease (and lingering post-infection symptoms)
  • Metabolic concerns such as diabetes (as part of broader care)
  • Suspected mold/mycotoxin exposure
  • Long COVID and other post-viral syndromes
  • Cardiovascular and certain neurological conditions (case-by-case)
  • Recovery support alongside training or rehabilitation
  • Constant low energy or tiredness

EBOO-F is used as one part of a broader wellness plan that includes nutrition, sleep, stress support, gut and hormone work, and movement. It is not intended to be used on its own, and all protocols are individualized with safety as the priority.

1

What Is EBOO, and Why Consider It?

EBOO-F (also referred to as EBOO) circulates a small, controlled amount of your blood through a closed external circuit, where it is filtered and exposed to a precisely dosed oxygen–ozone mixture, then returned to your body. In a typical session, blood is drawn from one vein, passes through the circuit and filter, and returns through a second vein; the process runs about 1 hour, with roughly 1.8–3.0 liters circulating in total.

In an integrative plan, the aim is to gently support key physiology:

Immune modulation-with the aim of a calmer inflammatory signal

Redox signaling includes supporting antioxidant defenses.

Microcirculation-supporting tissue oxygen delivery

Think of EBOO as a system-support tool that we pair with the foundations: sleep, nutrition, gut and hormone balance, stress tools, and smart movement. The protocols vary by person and are chosen with safety in mind.

Our EBOO Process at Terrain Health

Before the start of any session, we review whether EBOO is appropriate and how to deliver it as safely as possible.

Focused clinical intake: timeline, symptoms, meds/supplements, prior labs

Screening labs (as indicated): may include CBC/ CMP and G6PD screening when appropriate

Personalised dosing: concentration, flow rate, and session duration tailored for you

Closed-system administration: equipment includes ozone-destruct safeguards to avoid room-air exposure

Integration with your plan: nutrition, gut protocols, sleep and stress tools, movement so benefits “stick”

These are rich layers, but therapy will bring them out and can help heal them.

What an EBOO Session Is Like

  • Session flow: You are seated comfortably. Two sterile lines are placed, one in each arm, and after that, blood flows outside via an oxygen-ozone circuit and is returned to you.
  • Timing & cadence: Typically 45-90 minutes per session, although frequency & volume vary according to a specific plan, such as a short course with re-assessment.
  • After-effects: Some experience clarity and calmness, while others experience transient tiredness, headache, and/or soreness on the following day. We discuss what to anticipate and when to call us.
  • Safety & monitoring: Vitals are checked during & after, & if something doesn’t feel right, we stop & adjust.

Evidence, Limits, and When to Use EBOO as an Adjunct

Research on the efficacy of ozone-based therapies varies according to condition and protocol. Several clinical studies suggest short-term symptom relief in various musculoskeletal conditions while calling for larger, higher-quality trials. That’s why we position EBOO as an adjunct-used within a comprehensive plan rather than as a replacement for guideline-based care.

Important Safety & Regulatory Notes

  • Inhalation hazard: Ozone gas is not to be breathed. Ozone can cause irritation and damage to the lungs and is harmful to those with respiratory ailments. The design of our closed system is such that ozone gases present in room air are excluded.
  • Contraindications/cautions:  The main guidelines have identified G6PD deficiency, Favism, Pregnancy, and instable conditions, particularly during the first trimester, among the main contraindications to ozone therapy; caution has also been advised with some hematological and endocrine pathologies and pharmacological treatments. We screen and tailor.
  • Regulatory status (U.S.): Ozone therapies are not FDA-approved for diagnosing, treating, curing, and/or preventing any human disease. Their use remains solely within the realm of investigations. EBOO is our adjunct, rather than a replacement, mode.
  • Ongoing debate: Ozone therapy is an ongoing debate within mainstream medicine, with more rigorous studies required to determine where ozone therapy can and cannot offer benefit.

EBOO + The Bigger Picture

EBOO generally works within a full program:

  • Gut & microbiome: targeted nutrition and GI support when indicated
  • Metabolic stability: Protein and Fiber Requirements and Post-Passing Walks
  • Hormone & thyroid: hormone-responsive adjustments with your physicians
  • Nervous system: Breathing exercises, unwinding at night, and improving sleep habits
